Care Guide

Your Ashleigh Moore piece should be handled with care at all times. As precious metals and gemstones are delicate in nature, we suggest the following guidelines to help maintain the longevity of your piece.

  • Store your jewellery in the original pouch or box it came in.

  • Keep pieces apart so they don't rub or knock together.

  • Never go swimming in your jewellery as the chemicals in swimming pools will damage precious metals and gemstones.

  • Do not wear your jewellery when sleeping, exercising, cleaning or gardening.

  • Always remember to take your jewellery off before getting undressed. Your jewellery should also be the last thing you put on after getting dressed. This ensures the piece does not become tangled in your clothes and break.

  • Keep away from perfumes, harsh chemicals and household cleaning items. These are abrasives and will affect the metal and gemstones.

  • Do not use ultrasonic cleaners on pieces with gemstones. This can cause the stone to come loose.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver tarnishes naturally overtime. This process is called oxidisation and it is a natural blackening process that occurs when the metal comes into contact with any abrasive such as water, oxygen and natural skin acids. To avoid accelerating this process, avoid perfumes and household chemicals whilst wearing your piece.

Also, thoroughly dry your jewellery after it has been in water and clean after each wear to minimise this process.

Cleaning Your Jewellery

To clean your jewellery, we recommend washing pieces in warm soapy water (made with a detergent free soap) with a soft toothbrush. Alternatively, you can use a polishing cloth on polished pieces.

Remember, pieces with gemstones or plating cannot be put into a silver dip. This will damage the stones and plating.
