Making in her studio on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Ashleigh Moore creates modern jewellery pieces that bring a bit of the extraordinary to everyday life.
Ashleigh fell into the jewellery world a little by accident. After enrolling in a jewellery making class to gain a new hobby, her passion for making was undeniable and within a few weeks she found herself enrolling in full-time study.
“I still remember picking up a jewellers saw for the first time and cutting it into the wax. It’s a moment that’s hard to describe, but it felt like everything finally made sense. Three hours flew by in an instant. I’d entered into some other meditative world where everything was quiet and I was immersed in awe. I could never look back.”
After she finished her studies, Ashleigh went on to show her works in group and solo exhibitions both in Australia and Internationally. Take a look at her pieces here.
Through a refined use of shape, handmade textures and a focus on precious gemstones, Ashleigh is able to create unique pieces that are embedded with the principles of minimalism and sentimentality.
